With Christmas almost upon us, soon to be followed by 2019, it seems like a good time to reflect, take stock and begin to look forward.
2018 has been another busy year here at Digital Colour Services especially the last three months where you've kept us on our toes with an avalanche of Christmas card orders. It's always great seeing the new and creative ideas you come up with, it's a veritable visual feast that keeps us going during those long shifts.
There have been a few changes behind the scenes that you won't have seen and some updates to the website that you may have.
We've recently added a new digital press, it's a bit of a beast and we're still trying to tame it, but we're looking forward to being able to use the extra features it offers us. Hopefully January, traditionally a slightly quieter month, will give us chance to get to know the little quirks and finer details to utilise it to its full potential.
In November we bid Ellie farewell as she embarks on a new chapter which will allow her more time to concentrate on her illustration work, pop by her website www.elliejaydesigns.com and say we sent you
Ellie's departure left a bit of a hole in the giclée and canvas department but we're pleased to say we've persuaded David to return on an ad-hoc basis to help fill the gap.
We've made some big changes to the website when it comes to getting your greetings cards printed. We've increased the quantities available and made it easier to customise your order with card type, inside printing and additional designs all selectable on the same page. To enable us to achieve this a major overhaul was required to the uploads system, which took a little longer than planned, but we got there in the end. (No-one in I.T. wants to talk about conditional logic any time soon though). It seems to be working well, offers greater flexibility, and provides us with the information needed to ensure your cards are exactly as you would like.
We have plans to make more improvements in the new year but, for now, we're taking a well-earned break so it just leaves us to say enjoy the festive season and we wish you a healthy, happy and prosperous new year.
